However, after Cusack made some contentious comments regarding Piven's profession to Best Life magazine, the two boyhood friends finally grew apart.

He suggested that Piven had trouble visualizing a world in which others were equally successful as him or perhaps more so, and that Cusack had less respect for him as a result.

Justin Long and Jonah Hill

It didn't work out when Jonah Hill and Justin Long briefly shared a room in the middle of the 2000s. Long described what it was like to share a room with the other on a Watch What Happens Live episode. It appears that they quarreled over trivial issues.

Hill refused to shut the bathroom door out of laziness or a lack of concern for personal hygiene. He would actively recycle everything, on the other hand. The two left when the altercations became more frequent.

This strange couple once shared a residence while they were both students at Boston's School of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Lynch apparently thought Wolf was even stranger than him, despite his image as an oddball. Lynch made the decision to eject Wolf after he neglected to pay his rent on time.

Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling

You might decide against getting a roommate if you don't think it would be financially possible. Your employer requested you to do it, so you did. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams experienced that while the movie Blue Wedding was being filmed.

They were originally only supposed to be together for a week, but since the actors thought their characters would benefit from staying together longer, they lasted for a month, subsisting on a painter's and a nurse's income.

Conan O’Brien and Jeff Garlin

The comedians once shared a Wrigleyville home in the summer of 1988, long before they had seen stardom. Even back when they were cohabiting, their tales of comic timing perfection didn't let them down.

O'Brien recalled how funny it was when Garlin would kick in doors. Garlin would stomp his way into the room in the middle of the night and declare, "It's pudding pop time!" to paraphrase him. That sounds funny, so we're definitely interested in learning more.

A collage of the two was posted on Rachel's Instagram account in 2016—six years after they first met—along with a caption reflecting on their time spent together. She didn't forget to praise Illana as “just the best!”

In Hollywood, it's uncommon to see old pals from college reuniting to work on a project, and it's even less common to see friendships from high school still going strong. Damien Chazelle, the director of La La Land, shared a dorm room with Justin Hurwitz, a musician.

The two became friends in their freshman year, and by the time they entered their sophomore year, they were even members of the band Chester French. The pair started collaborating on the critically acclaimed musical drama La La Land in 2010.

He said something amusing but also disgusting: Pitt consistently prevailed in challenges to see who could go the longest without shaving and taking a shower. The two had to mostly subsist on Ramen noodles and cheap alcohol, much like any other broke college student!

Channing Tatum and Jax Taylor

Fans of Vanderpump Rules are familiar with Jax's penchant for lying. He told Andy Cohen in 2013 that he shared an apartment with the Magic Mike actor before he became well-known, though.

In a recent development, Tom Sandoval may have been more accurate when he said Jax could assert his parents owned 47% of CVS. There is no way to know whether it was genuine or not because Tatum hasn't spoken up on the subject.

Paula Abdul and Kara Dioguardi

For more than a year, singer Kara Dioguardi of "Straight Up" and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul shared a room. Dioguardi expressed disappointment in Abdul for her remark that there was no need for four judges on American Idol in the middle of the conversation.

Abdul later claimed that her remarks had been misinterpreted and that she had not intended them in that way. Although there isn't much to talk about, it appears like Dioguardi and Abdul are still buddies.

Ving Rhames and Stanley Tucci

This is a pairing we by no means anticipated. The actors shared a dorm at the State University of New York while majoring in acting. The actor Irving (real name) from Pulp Fiction was given the moniker "Ving" by his pal Tucci.

When Rhames gave Stanley the prize for best actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie for his performance in Winchell, the two were again together on stage at the 1999 Golden Globes.

Robin Lord Taylor and Billy Eichner

Eichner, the Billy on the Street presenter, and Taylor, the show's star, co-created and starred in Creation Nation: A Live Talk Show while living and working together.

Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp

During the 1980s, Johnny Depp and Nicolas Cage shared a modest residence, a far cry from the opulence and fame that would later define their lives. In those times, Depp harbored dreams of musical success, strumming his guitar in pursuit of a breakthrough. However, fate intervened during a casual game of Monopoly, altering the trajectory of Depp's life. Cage, recognizing Depp's latent talent, uttered the words that would shape his destiny: "Start acting." Inspired by this suggestion, Depp took a leap of faith, leading to a pivotal encounter with an agent through Cage's connections. This marked the beginning of Depp's journey into acting, culminating in his role in the iconic horror film, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and setting the stage for his illustrious career.

Avril Lavigne and Ryan Cabrera

People initially assumed that the two were dating because they were frequently seen out and about together. That myth, however, was swiftly dispelled because Cabrera and Lavigne had been close friends for a long time and because Cabrera had recently broken up with his girlfriend, Katie Krause, and was now residing with his friend Lavigne.

Lavigne and Cabrera had been friends for 12 years, so it stands to reason that they would want to comfort one another when things became tough.

In the 1990s, these two stunning women shared a room in Los Angeles. When Paltrow allegedly found Shakespeare in Love's script at the home and went to the audition, things apparently took a turn for the worse in 1998. She won an Oscar for that part.

Paltrow disputes that she did so with the purpose of stealing Ryder's role. After Paltrow's website, Goop, was founded in 2009, things heated up again. In an essay, Paltrow refers to a person who many believe to be Ryder as a "frenemy" who wants to destroy her in any way.

Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper

No matter how long they have lived together, roommates are roommates. Cooper's lease unexpectedly expired while Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone were filming Aloha. Stone thus made the invitation to her co-star to dwell at her home in 2015.

However, the arrangement was only in place for a week. Emma referred to them as roommates in an interview with E! News, but Cooper quickly corrected her and clarified they were "housemates."

Raven-Symoné and Lindsay Lohan

She continued by saying that even though Lohan paid the rent, she was only there three times while they were housemates. Lohan was less present than the clothes. We hope things did not get sour even if there is no reason for why one of them moved out!

Christopher Reeve and Robin Williams

Christopher Reeve and Robin Williams are a prime illustration of how roommates may become more close than family. Two individuals who live together are inevitably going to share aspects of their lives and form a link that is stronger than that of ordinary pals.

Reeve and Williams shared a room in New York City in the early 1970s while attending the Juilliard School of Drama. The two remained in touch after college was over, and Reeve's wife, Dana, once remarked that they were “closer than brothers.”

James Corden and Dominic Cooper

James Corden, the host of The Late Late Show, and Dominic Cooper, a guest star for the evening and his old roommate, lovingly recalled their time living together in a London flat. There wasn't much furniture, and the only piece of cutlery they owned was a spatula.
